Finally! Burke placed defenseman Jeff Finger on waivers today, lifting his 3.5 million dollar salary off the Maple Leafs shoulders.  As reported by the Toronto Star, Head Coach Ron Wilson said, “Jeff knows the situation.  Right now there are seven defenseman who are better than him.  We don’t want to carry two extra defenseman.  We don’t even want to carry two extra forwards.”
