(Photo credit: WHL.ca) Brendan Leipsic, one of the Nashville Predators' top prospects, signed a three-year entry-level deal with the organization Thursday evening. The 19 year old was drafted by Nashville in the third round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Leipsic is currently playing in the Canadian Hockey League Memorial Cup with the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League. During the 2012-13 season, Leipsic tied for the lead in points with 120 (49g, 71a) in only 68 games for not only the Winterhawks, but the entire WHL. He shared the scoring title with fellow teammate Nicolas Petan. Meanwhile, the pesky 5'9" winger amassed 103 penalty minutes. Obviously the Predators' scouts did their homework on the Winnipeg native. Many teams are still cringing for passing up on Leipsic until Nashville was able to select him 89th overall.  Give Leipsic a year before he makes an appearance in the NHL. Having him, Filip Forsberg, Taylor Beck and Roman Josi on the squad as four young, promising players in future years, has to feel good for General Manager David Poile. It will be exciting to see Leipsic at development camp this summer and possibly at training camp as well.  Brendan Leipsic is on Twitter, so follow him @leip28.
