BRADY SKJEI RUMORS & GOSSIP

Quick notes: Skjei returning to NCAA; No “real” offer made to Stralman

Skjei is a first pairing defenseman with the club, and […] The post Quick notes: Skjei returning to NCAA; No “real” offer...

Prospect Camp Day 1 Highlights

Before I get to the insanity that is Day 1 of free agency, I figured I’d start the day with some video, interviews and recaps from Day 1 of the Rangers prospect camp. Obviously the highlight of the day was the scrimmage… …really not much to take out of a 1:30 highlight package, except that this year’s second round pick Brandon Halverson didn’t exactly look like Brodeur...

Up way past my bedtime

Brady Skjei (USA Hockey)Yikes it is 3 AM Saturday morning getting ready for Brady Skjei and Team USA to face Slovakia in their 2nd game of the World Under-20 Championships over in Malmo Sweden. Oh it is not like I am ignoring Pavel Buchnevich (NYR 2013 3rd) but rather I am waiting until Russia faces Sweden and Finland in their group to gauge Buchnevich since both of those teams have...

Nieves, Skjei make final USA evaluation roster

Boo Nieves (2012, 2nd) and Brady Skjei (2012, 1st) both made it to the final round of cuts for Team USA for the World Juniors. The team still needs to be cut by six forwards and four defensemen (and a goalie), so Skjei and Nieves haven’t made the roster yet. Skjei was one of the final cuts last year for the WJC team, but he has been impressive this year during the tryouts. Nieves...

Nieves' explosive speed revealed on the PK as he stole puck at blue line...

Skjei’s freshman struggles no concern yet

No reason to panic with Skjei Perhaps lost amid the excellent world junior campaign played by Team USA are the struggles of Brady Skjei in his freshman year with Minnesota in the WCHA. Skjei has just two points, which both came in one game way back in October, and has been outplayed by fellow freshman Mike Reilly who – unlike Skjei – made the US world junior team that’s earned...

JT Miller and Brady Skjei make US World Junior club

This is a bit old, but J.T. Miller and Brady Skjei have both made the US team for this year’s World Junior Championships. Miller, who was on the team last year, will likely be named captain prior to the start of the tournament. This will be Skjei’s first year with the club. Skjei has already received comparisons to Ryan McDonagh, but it’s a bit early in the game to be making...
