Edmonton Oilers correspondent looks Liam Reddox’s decision to leave the Oilers for Sweden and what his impact was on the team. After spending  four season splitting time between the AHL and the NHL, Liam Reddox has signed a one-year contract with a Swedish Elite League team in Vaxjo. Reddox was drafted by the Oilers in the 4th round of the NHL Entry Draft in 2004, 114th overall. The 25-year old left wing had one goal and nine assists through 44 games this season with Edmonton. Prior to his being called up in January, Reddox had 18 goals and 15 assists for 33 points in 37 games for the Oklahoma City Barons. Come July 1st Reddox was to be a restricted free agent but he off to Sweden instead. Reddox was looking for a one-way contact for the upcoming season(s) but he says the Oilers were not prepared to do that; he previously had a two-way contact.
