Lightning acquire LW Brandon Hagel from Blackhawks in blockbuster trade

With the 2021-2022 NHL trade deadline coming on Monday, the Tampa Bay Lightning made a big move on Friday afternoon in an effort to solidify their roster as they look to capture their third straight Stanley Cup title.

The regular season is entering its homestretch and the Lightning will enter play on Friday in third place in the Eastern Conference at 39-15-6 (84 points). Hagel will provide them with another scoring option, while the Blackhawks appear to be looking towards the future in landing the pair of first-round picks and two rookies (and former second-rounders) in Katchouk and Raddysh.

Chicago is in 14th place in the Western Conference at 22-30-9 (53 points).

In his second full NHL campaign, Hagel has set career highs this season in game played (55), goals (21), assists (16) and points (37). He ranks fourth among all Chicago players in points and is second only to Alex DeBrincat (34) in goals scored.

Raddysh has posted five goals and seven assists for 12 points across 53 games this season, while Katchouk has registered two goals, four assists and six points in 38 contests.
