The Lightning picked up two crucial points after defeating the Ottawa Senators 3-2. Recently acquired Ben Bishop was in net against his former team. He faced 33 goals and stopped 31. Conacher, who was dealt for Bishop, had one shot on goal and was on the ice for 15:46. The Lightning had nine power play opportunities and scored on two of them. One of those goals came from Steven Stamkos in the third period which proved to be the game winning goal. Stamkos is tied for the league lead with 26 goals. But the story of the night was Bishop facing his old team. “It was a great feeling. Big two points for our team,” Bishop said after the game. “First game in this building as a part of the Tampa Bay Lightning so I wanted to get a big win for the fans and it was nice that it was against my old team.” Lightning are eight points back from division leading Washington with nince games to play.
