The Tampa Bay Lightning were able to get some goals on the board in a crucial division win Saturday night over the Carolina Hurricanes 4-1. The Bolts were ignited by the play of their rookies. Tyler Johnson and Ondrej Palat set the offensive examples for the game with the goals. “I thought Johnson, Palat and Tyrell gave us momentum from their shift on the ice,” coach Guy Boucher said. “They were everywhere on the ice. We know they have skill. We know they are fast and we know they work hard.” But the true highlight of the game was goaltender Mathieu Garon. Garon stopped 21 of 22 shots faced and improved his save percentage to .915. That ranks him 18th in all the NHL for goalies in save percentage. Tampa Bay now sits seven points back from the division leader Winnipeg Jets. The post Lightning get the puck in net in win over Carolina appeared first on The Bay Cave.
