The Bay Cave:
The Philadelphia Flyers started the fight but were ultimately beat down by Vinny and the Bolts as the Lightning poured it on in route to a 5-1 win at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. The Flyers got on the board first just :59 seconds into the game. A shot from the corner from Philadelphia center Sean Couturier squeezed in between Anders Lindback’s skate and the goalpost. But that would be all that they would get. Lightning captain Vincent Lecavalier squared off with Flyers’ defenseman Luke Schenn shortly after and set the tone for Tampa Bay. Goals from Teddy Purcell, Eric Brewer, and Lecavalier put the Lightning up 3-1 after the first period. A solid second period by the Lightning, a period in which they have struggled so far this season, kept Philadelphia off the board. A quick goal by Victor Hedman to start the third period put the Lightning up 4-1 and Steven Stamkos would later add a tip-in for his third goal of the season to seal the deal. The Lightning continue their good play on special teams, finishing 2/5 on the power play and were prefect killing off six penalties. While the high-scoring Tampa Bay Lightning are off to a great start, coach Guy Boucher feels they're capable of better - especially in the second period.
The Lightning's efforts against the Philadelphia Flyers over the previous two seasons haven't left much room for improvement.

It's not like Peter Laviolette or even his player to use excuses for losing.
You can come up with a couple of easy reasons why the FLyers were going to lose in Tampa Bay, starting with back to back games and finishing with 6 games in 9 days.
Or how about ... the Lightning right now is a better team? Period.
What is starting to bother me, however, is that the players...

After picking up their first win of the season against the Rangers a few days ago, the Flyers traveled to Florida to take on the Panthers. It was exactly the kind of performance Guy Boucher and the Tampa Bay Lightning have been looking for all season long. On Sunday night, the Philadelphia Flyers and Bolts took to the ice for what would quickly become an incredibly one sided affair. The Lightning battled, scored and dominated the flow of play from start to finish. Perfection is just about the only word to describe...
