Even Mother Nature doesn’t want hockey to be played this year.    Between Friday night and Saturday morning, a blizzard dumped snow over the Northeastern United States and Canada. While some areas that received snow were able to get their scheduled games in, such as the Penguins taking on the Devils at the Prudential Center, fans in Boston are not as lucky.  The game against the Lightning, which was originally scheduled for 1:00 PM, was pushed back until 7:00 to allow the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to plow roads and ensure safe travels for everyone in the state. However, because of a state of emergency that has not yet been lifted, the National Hockey League has decided to postpone the game. Here’s the official release from the League:   Today's game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins at the TD Garden, NHL Game No. 154, has been postponed due to the continuing, weather-related State of Emergency that remains in effect in B...

The Bruins went into Buffalo on Sunday night and picked up a 3-1 win over the Sabres...

The Bruins are off to their best 10-game start in franchise history, improving to 8-1-1 after a Sunday night win against the Sabres. The Bruins have started out February with three straight wins, holding their opponents to two goals while just scoring six goals themselves.  This might not come as a surprise as the Bruins haven’t won a game by more than two goals all season, but...

Bruins’ Snow Day Against Lightning Joins New Jersey’s Fabled ’334′ Game in NHL Lore (Video)

The Bruins tried to play on Saturday despite some snowy conditions in Boston, but ultimately the NHL decided to postpone the game. While it might be difficult for the B’s to find a date to play the Lightning again, that trouble pales in comparison to the fate that befell several New Jersey Devils players back in 1987. As NESN’s Andy Brickley remembers it, New Jersey had a devil...

Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Anders Lindback made this miraculous save on Travis Zajac on Thursday night.  This is one of those instances where it’s very helpful to be 6’6″ and extremely athletic.  Lindback finished the game with 23 saves as the New Jersey Devils beat the Lightning 4-2.[YouTube]

10. Tampa Bay Lightning at Boston Bruins: Nemo Edition
