Flyers legend Eric Lindros will be doing what once seemed impossible -- he will be donning the Flyers colors once again.
The former Flyers captain will be wearing the Orange and Black during the Flyers alumni game outdoors against the New York Rangers, Lindros told ESPN.com.
The game is set to take place Dec. 31 at Citizens Bank Park -- a couple of days before the annual NHL Winter Classic takes place between the Fly Guys and Rangers.
Lindros was the face of the Flyers for most of the 90s leading the team to three Conference Finals and a Stanley Cup Final before injuries, off-the-ice tensions and a lost 2000-01 season due to concussion and a contract dispute led to his unceremonious trade to the rival Rangers.

Eric Lindros confirmed on Wednesday that he will be playing hockey in the City of Brotherly Love - well, the Winter Classic Alumni Game, that is.
The former Philadelphia Flyers captain told 590 AM radio in Toronto that he will participate in a reunion of the Legion of Doom line with John LeClair and Mikael Renberg during the Alumni Game at Citizens Bank Park on Dec. 31.
One of the more popular--not to mention effective--lines in Philadelphia Flyers history will be reunited this winter, when John LeClair, Mikael Renberg and Eric Lindros lace up their skates together at the Flyers-Rangers Alumni game on December 31st. Lindros confirmed the "Legion of Doom" line will skate again this morning in an interview with 590 AM in Toronto.

The Flyers placed him on LTIR and called up forward Zac Rinaldo and defenseman Erik Gustafsson. It is the second injury of the...
I have watched back-to-back games that were complete and total crap. I’m not going to sit here and tell you that I expect the Philadelphia Flyers to come out and win every game, that would be unreasonable and insane. At this point, I’d settle for some consistency.
So far, this team has been anything BUT consistent. There have been flashes of the good stuff that we,...

Is it pretty safe to call yesterday one of the more ridiculous sporting days of 2011? In hockey, you had your usual wild finishes, but a seventeen-goal game between Winnipeg and Philadelphia stole the show. In college football, Case Keenum threw for nine - again, nine - touchdowns in a single game.
And, that baseball game? Unreal. Can...
Ilya Bryzgalov gave up 4 goals on 10 shots tonight after coming in for starter Sergei Bobrovsky, who by the way faced 15 shots while giving up 5 goals.
He faced the media after the game….
The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have recalled recalled 5-11, 185-lb left wing Zac Rinaldo and 5-10, 180-lb defenseman Erik Gustafsson from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, according to general mana...
