The San Jose Sharks peppered the Oilers goalie Devan Dubnyk with 45 shots but still only came away with 1 point as the Oilers won the game 2-1 in the shootout.
The Oilers scored on a fortunate bounce and the Sharks only had one power play which they scored on, however that five minute major was a missed opportunity for San Jose.

I don't read the Edmonton Sun for a range of reasons, but it's come to my attention this morning that they ran a story suggesting Steve Tambellini is soon to be re-signed as the Edmonton Oilers General Manager. One person told me on Twitter that it's a four-year extension? I don't know for sure. I didn't read the article.

Oilers lose to Canucks 3-2 in shootout
Whatever Tom Renney said or did with his team on Sunday, it certainly is having a lasting effect. For the second night in a row, the Oilers held in took the game to extra time. Also for the second night in a row, Devan Dubnyk started for the Oilers. Overall, Dubnyk once again looked good in net.
Of course it was a Sedin who opened the game...
