Logan Couture’s case for the Calder

Logan Couture was nominated for the Calder Trophy last week for the NHL’s Rookie of the Year. Despite playing in 25 regular season games and 15 playoff games last season, Couture was eligible for the Calder. “To be eligible for the award, a player cannot have played more than 25 games in any single preceding season nor in six or more games in each of any two preceding seasons in any major professional league.
