The Los Angeles Kings are now one win away from hoisting the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history. On Monday night the Kings absolutely smoked the New Jersey Devils 4-0 in Game 3 of their Stanley Cup Finals series.

Los Angeles is now up 3-0 in the series and it is the fourth time this postseason they have a 3-0 series lead. The team now has a 15-2 record in the playoffs. It has been a remarkable run and Monday night’s game may have been their best of the playoffs.

The Kings were able to get four pucks past Martin Brodeur. Video of all of the goals after the jump.

Alec Martinez got the scoring underway as he and Dwight King refused to give up on the play and kept whacking at the puck until it went into the net. After that goal the Kings just got an extra gear.

The second goal here may have been the best goal of the finals series. Justin Williams beautifully dropped the puck to Dustin Brown, who hit Anze Kopitar perfectly. Kopitar didn’t mess around, shooting it past a helpless Brodeur.

In the third period the Kings just owned the game. As proof of that, their dormant power play came back to life. Jeff Carter took a pass from Mike Richards and roofed it past Brodeur. The key to this play was defenseman Willie Mitchell keeping the puck in the zone and getting it to Richards.

The Kings capped off the scoring with another power play tally. Defenseman Drew Doughty made a great rush up the ice and set a perfect pass across to Justin Williams. Williams made a sweet move then took a shot that was saved by Brodeur. But the forward got his own rebound and slipped it past the long-time New Jersey goaltender.

It was a phenomenal performance from a Kings team that has been simply incredible this postseason.
