The L.A. Kings’ Simon Gagne is back on the ice and well on the road to recovery, reports L.A. Kings Insider.

He skated for a half-hour, Rich Hammond, of the Kings-operated blog, says.

Gagne suffered a concussion on Dec. 26 in a game against the Phoenix Coyotes.

He’s making good strides while it was speculated he may not rejoin his teammates until next season.

An excerpt from the Dec. 26 Insider entry:

“Simon Gagne, who didn’t play in the third period, got “a little banged up” early in the game, according to coach Darryl Sutter. Sutter didn’t elaborate, other than to say that Gagne would be evaluated again tomorrow before the Kings’ flight to Chicago. The Kings are not scheduled to practice tomorrow.”

Obviously, Gagne turned out to be more than “a little banged up.”
