Some of you may have planned on watching the Walking Dead after the Flyers brutal 3-0 loss on Saturday. The Flyers were losers of three straight games, registering a loss against the Rangers, Penguins and Bruins. On Sunday night, the orange and black faced off against the Buffalo Sabres. Buffalo with a 9-13-3 record, is a mere 3-5-2 in their last ten games. The Flyers are coming off three straight loses, and is a split 5-5 in their last ten games. The game started off with some very energetic shifts from the Flyers, which led to a power play. Simon Gagne squeaked a shot through Ryan Miller's five hole on a semi-breakaway at 4:31 in the first period. Just a few minutes later, the Flyers were on the shorthanded end of things, as Wayne Simmonds took a slashing penalty. After a blind pass by Steve Ott, Ruslan Fedotenko hit Maxime Talbot with a beauty of a pass for a shorthanded goal to give the Flyers a 2-0 lead.  Following the Talbot goal, after a bad turnover in their own end, Brian Flynn scored his second of the season. The late minutes of the first period the game became a bit choppy after an unfortunate hit on Tyler Ennis from Wayne Simmonds. Simmonds was not penalized, but was involved in a fight with Mike Weber, who lost the fight and was given a two minute minor, a five minute major, and a 10 minute misconduct.  The captain Claude Giroux set the tone early in the second period. G scored his 8th of the season, on the power play just 17 seconds into the second frame. The second considered of a lot of back and forth action. The Flyers outshot the Sabres 22-14 after two periods. Max Talbot had a strong second, and a goal in the first. Ilya Bryzgalov also made a huge pad save late in the second to keep the game at 3-1 Flyers. Just 4:32 into the third frame, Jochen Hecht scored off a great pass ono a 2 on 1 to make the game within one. Shortyl after the Hecht goal, Sabres' Cory Hodgson took a hard shot that trickled past Bryzgalov in whiched seemed to be the tying goal, but Bradyen Schenn hustled back and grabbed it on the line.  Later in the period, Luke Schenn took a boarding penalty  on Nathan Gerbe with 6:43 left in the game. The Flyers were able to kill the penalty off, and obtain some momentum. The Flyers controlled the play as they continued to clear the zone, and play smart in the final few minutes. In the end the Flyers won the game 3-2, outshooting the Sabres 28-20. The Flyers next game is on Wednesday night at the Prudential Center as they face the New Jersey Devils at 7:30pm.
