Lundqvist
The drummer of Henrik Lundqvist's band, Jay Weinberg, tweets this pic of the two of them along with third band member John McEnroe after practicing for the final time before the Rangers goaltender headed to the All Star Game in Ottawa yesterday......while Lundqvist looks the part of a rock 'n' roll icon, McEnroe just looks completely out of place. And I'm a fan of the former tennis star, especially after his epic appearance on Curb Your Enthusiasm a few years ago (strong language so watch the volume at work)... Lundqvist, Gaborik Exchange Trash Talk, Hagelin Talks All-Star Weekend

There was a little suspense during last night's All-Star Fantasy Draft as Rangers forward Marian Gaborik remained on the board into the later rounds of the selection process, with Henrik Lundqvist still needing to fill a few forward slots as the assistant captain of Team Alfedsson. As I suggested on Twitter, it seemed as if Lundqvist and Gaborik had the wish of competing against...

Teammates turned All-Star rivals Lundqvist, Gaborik trade barbs

New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist and forward Marian Gaborik are on opposite teams during the All-Star Weekend. As a result, some good-natured ribbing took place between the two on Twitter. Lundqvist started the trash talk on Friday night when he tweeted, "Alright @MGaborik10, having a lot of pasta and going to bed early tonight. Watch out for the 2 pad stack tomorrow...

Rangers, Lundqvist take care of Jets

Henrik Lundqvist took a ride up to the New York Rangers' practice rink on Tuesday morning, thinking he would have that night off when the Winnipeg Jets came to town. A bout with the flu for backup Martin Biron changed all that for New York's All-Star goalie. Instead of resting during the last game before the break, Lundqvist went out and put up the 40th shutout of his stellar...

The Hank Shuffle

TheNYRBlog reader Nevada T. sends me this .gif of Henrik Lundqvist doing the "Hank Shuffle" in an attempt to keep the puck from crossing the line during the Rangers 3-0 against the Jets Tuesday night... ...savvy veteran move by Hank making sure there was no doubt the ref didn't see that puck cross the goal line. Was definitely laughing my ass off watching him do that...

Rangers' Lundqvist beats Jets 3-0 (AP)

Henrik Lundqvist stopped 22 shots in a bit of a surprise start, and Ryan Callahan, John Mitchell and Brad Richards provided the offense in the New York Rangers' 3-0 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night. Lundqvist (22-10-4) made his fifth consecutive start for the Eastern Conference-leading Rangers because backup Martin Biron was out with the flu.

Rangers-Jets review

Someone asked Henrik Lundqvist last night if he knew the Jets hadn’t won the second part of a back-to-back all season. He laughed and said he didn’t, then insisted it didn’t matter. Some team will always be the first, he said. Despite sitting atop the Eastern Conference at the break, Lundqvist and the Rangers refuse to leave a stone unturned. The idea of Winnipeg, amidst a...
