Veteran forward John Madden has signed a one-year contract with the Florida Panthers.The 38-year-old is one of the best defensive forwards in hockey, having won the Selke Trophy in 2001 with the New Jersey Devils.Madden, who won three Stanley Cup championships, is joining his fourth NHL team."John is a veteran player who brings to our team a wealth of playing experience,” Panthers general manager Dale Tallon said in a statement. “He is a hard working and responsible forward who plays well at both ends of the ice and is excellent on face-offs.He spent last season with the Minnesota Wild, scoring 12 goals and adding 13 assists in 76 games.
