Pittsburgh Penguins star center Evgeni Malkin was named the NHL's First Star of the Week on Monday.
The All-Star collected nine goals during a six-game stretch and now shares the team lead with James Neal (26 tallies) this season.
This past week, Malkin scored against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday, tallied twice versus the New York Rangers on Thursday and added the game-tying and winning goals against the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.
Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Hartnell was named the league's second star. He tallied twice against the New Jersey Devils on Saturday before notching a natural hat trick versus the Boston Bruins on Sunday.
New York Islanders goaltender Evgeni Nabokov earned the Third Star after recording his 300th career victory. The Russian allowed two goals in his last three starts.
