In case you missed it: Penguins, Flyers fight it out

Yesterday’s game with the Flyers was just crazy.  Not only did they own us after we opened up a 2-0 lead in the first period but things got out of control with about a minute left in the game.  I mean it was an all out brawl on the ice, even the coaches got into the action.  The craziest part is that we meet again next Saturday in the regular season finale and it looks like...

Andrew Ference Lands Multiple Haymakers During Brutal Fight With Penguins' James Neal (Video)

Andrew Ference isn't a big guy. And he doesn't often get himself into physical battles, especially fights. On Tuesday night, Ference made an exception. After a tough first period, Ference had just about enough of the Pittsburgh Penguins' gritty style and took on a much larger opponent to relieve some aggression. Ference challenged Penguins winger James Neal, giving up...

Pens-Flyers Finish A Preview Of Playoffs...???

((HT: NBC/NHL))If points fall a certain way, the Pittsburgh-Philadelphia game could be a playoff preview. If it was a preview, then we're in a for a good one.On day two of a back-to-back, Philadelphia spotted the Pens a 2-0 lead, but behind a four-goal 3rd period the Flyers beat the Penguins 6-4.So what...? You say... the game got chippy and then boiled over with a little over...

Link City: Milbury apologizes; Penguins not happy

Mike Milbury formally apologized to the Penguins for his comments yesterday. [Puck Daddy] "I reached out to David Morehouse and the Penguins about the comments I made yesterday on Philadelphia radio. In hindsight, I realize what I said was inappropriate and wrong, and I want to apologize to the Penguins organization and their fans." Shero and Crosby...

Bloom’s Blog: News From Around the League

Sidney Crosby’s return has apparently been worth the wait. Crosby has 25 points in 15 games, a point-per-game ratio of 1.666, his best ratio in his career. But why has Crosby’s return been so successful? Several responds to his dominance have been that the amount of time that the Penguins staff and doctors took with him really helped him be just as good, if not better, than he...

Highest Scoring Team

In February, I wrote about how the Philadelphia Flyers were the highest scoring team in the league.  They will not finish the season in that position.  The Pittsburgh Penguins have taken over that spot.  It is no surprise that this happened after Sidney Crosby returned from injury.  With Crosby in the lineup, the Penguins have the two highest scoring players in the league in...

Bruins Fans Worry About Johnny Boychuk as 'Mr. Irrelevant' Sidney Crosby Leads Penguins to Meaningless Win (Video)

Tuesday night's game wasn't supposed to matter for the Bruins, since they're locked into the No. 2 spot in the Eastern Conference for the playoffs. When Johnny Boychuck went down with an injury, however, things got real in a hurry. The Bruins lost the game and potentially more when Boychuck collided with Arron Asham and left the game with a lower-body injury. Obviously...

John Toperzer: April Hockey: Pens & Flyers playoff countdown begins

Playoffs, Pens and Flyers make for great matchup Follow me on Twitter @JohnToperzer If you’re a Penguins fan, Sunday’s game was more chatter and jockeying than anything else. How much does it really matter whether the Pens finish fourth or fifth? It’s a foregone conclusion that the teams will meet in the first round of the playoffs. If I’m Dan Bylsma...

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Philadelphia Flyers – Game 79
