Randy Carlyle was officially introduced as the new head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday morning. Signed to a three-year deal, Carlyle takes the helm from Ron Wilson, who was fired on Friday night. Wilson had received a one-year contract extension in late December. Carlyle will look to help the Maple Leafs snap a six-game losing streak when they visit the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday. A once-promising season has disappeared as Toronto has slipped to 12th in the Eastern Conference, five points behind the eighth-place Winnipeg Jets. "I've never had a team fall off the cliff like this before," Toronto general manager Brian Burke said. The Leafs, who have just one win in their last 11 games, have not been to the postseason since 2003-04. Hired in 2008, Wilson posted a 130-135-45 record with Toronto.
