Maple Leafs prospect Harry Nansi ties 2024-25 point total in 50 fewer games

The Toronto Maple Leafs had a bit of a thin draft class in 2025, but they might have found a diamond in the rough in forward Harry Nansi.

Nansi is a 6-foot-4 centre out of the OHL’s Owen Sound Attack who can play wing as well, and he was drafted in the fifth round of the 2025 NHL Draft. Following a season that saw him produce 23 points in 67 games as a 17-year-old, it became apparent that, like most middle-round picks, Nansi was a bit of a project pick. His offensive totals weren’t anything crazy and his skating had room for improvement, but his motor and playmaking skills made him stand out to Leafs brass. In addition to that, Nansi only turned 18 on September 10th, meaning that he was born one week shy of not being eligible for the draft until 2026 and thus making him one of the youngest players in the draft class.

It’s still early in the season, but so far, we’re seeing exactly why the Leafs’ scouting staff liked him. Through 17 games, Nansi has already matched his point total from last season, with six goals and 17 assists for 23 points in those games. The fact that he’s producing at a rate of an assist per game shows that there is in fact something to his playmaking game that’s worth keeping an eye on, and when you consider that the Attack have gone from being one of the worst teams in the league to currently sitting third place in the OHL with a record of 12-5-0, you can see that simply playing on a competitive team is doing wonders for his game.

The Attack had one of the younger teams in the league last season and were pretty much single-handedly carried by goaltender Carter George, a Los Angeles Kings draft pick who suited up for Team Canada at the 2025 World Juniors. This season, their younger players have taken a significant step forward and have won enough games early in the season to give them confidence for the grind of the regular season.

While Nansi is far away from suiting up for the Maple Leafs, it has to make his team glad to know that their hunch about him was correct. Of course, a strong sophomore season isn’t the be-all-end-all of evaluating a prospect, but if he can keep up his production, it’ll force brass to keep their eyes fixated on him. The next step for Nansi is to earn an entry-level contract from the team, and if he keeps up his performance this season, it wouldn’t be a far cry at all to suggest that he’ll put pen to paper by the end of the season.
