Maple Leafs unveil 2024 St. Pats jerseys
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Toronto Maple Leafs have unveiled their St. Pats jerseys for their St. Patrick’s Day theme night on March 16 when they face the Carolina Hurricanes.

The white and green sweaters are also available to be used in EA Sports’ NHL 24.

The design pays homage to what the franchise wore in the 1920s when the Maple Leafs were known as the St. Pats after the club had been purchased by the St. Patricks senior hockey organization. The club won a Stanley Cup as the St. Pats in 1922 before being purchased by a group headed by Conn Smythe, who renamed the club to the Maple Leafs in 1927.

The team first wore St. Pats jerseys in 2002, donning a green sweater with white letters, paired with a brown set of gloves, pants and helmets. The team would go 15 seasons before wearing another St. Pats-themed uniform, wearing a predominantly white jersey in 2017 and continuing the tradition each St. Patrick’s Day.
