Patrick Marleau scored with 4.1 seconds left to tie the game at 3, but the Sharks fell to the Kings in a shootout.
Marleau tied the game at 2 just a few minutes earlier with his 32nd goal of the season. Dustin Brown’s second goal of the game came with less than two minutes left in regulation, and it looked like the Sharks were going to come away empty handed. But Marleau wouldn’t let that happen. Logan Couture made a pass to Ryane Clowe, who then found Marleau in front of the net. Marleau was able to jam the puck in for a breathtaking tying goal that earned the Sharks a point. This all came after the Kings failed to clear the zone with about ten seconds left. Brown scored the game winner in the shootout to give the Kings their league leading ninth shootout victory of the season. Dan Boyle scored the lone goal for the Sharks in the shootout. Jarret Stoll also scored in the shootout for Los Angeles. Joe Pavelski scored a power play goal...
