Running With The Devils:
We are days away from the start of the Free Agency Frenzy so I would expect that the word of the day would be “speculation.” There is A LOT of it going on this morning but being that these rumors came from reputable sources, maybe there is some substance to them.
Brodeur has hired agent Pat Brisson, who represents Sidney Crosby, among others, to represent him. Keep in mind, Marty hasn’t had an agent in many, MANY years (I want to say 96 but can’t confirm that!!) Brisson has told Darren Dreger of TSN that if Brodeur isn't re-signed by Sunday he will test free agency and listen to offers.
OK..WOW, that’s a big deal. I really see Brisson being a tool used to squeeze as much money out of NJ as he could, nothing more than that but I guess you also have to entertain the idea that Marty might not be in NJ come the start of next season. The only really thing to take away from this that there is no positive from a Devils perspective of him hiring an agent.
Zach Parise still lo...

TSN’s Darren Dreger offers tidbits about Justin Schultz’s “decision” (what, no TSN special?) and Martin Brodeur’s future in his latest “Dreger Report.” Regarding Schultz?
The Edmonton Oilers recruited a couple of former greats to help lure college free agent Justin Schultz west. Wayne Gretzky and Paul Coffey both spoke with Schultz on Edmonton’s behalf.

Free agency is on the horizon and it’s old news that Devil’s captain and superstar Zach Parise is fronting the 2012 unrestricted free agent class. Although Parise has expressed his desire to remain a New Jersey Devil on countless occasions, it hasn’t stopped waves of rumors and speculation regarding where...
via Darren Dreger tweet, Martin Brodeur very likely to test free agent market. Brodeur has hired Pat Brisson (CAA) to represent him. Bidders get ready!
The hockey media world has been abuzz this morning at the news that 40 year old goaltender Martin Brodeur has enlisted the services of agent Pat Brisson in advance of July 1st, which could be an indication that he is not willing to take a home town discount to continue playing in New Jersey for a 20th season and may be open to other options.
While it is assumed that the hiring...
