Blackhawks Flock:
Chicago Blackhawks goalie Marty Turco is on a short leash with Coach Q and he better get his act together before he loses his starting job.
TrueHockey.com’s Adam Strickland wrote in regards to Coach Q and his tolerance of Turco’s poor play,
“He will have little patience for the up and down play Turco is known to give especially when mistakes are made overplaying the puck. There are plenty of teams who will purposely place pucks in areas to force Turco to leave his crease. It’s no secret, for as many good plays he makes Turco can also be a turnover machine.”
I said before the season began that I hope it doesn’t happen but there was a chance there would be a goalie controversy like the one between Huet and Niemi last season. Turco has played decently but he played for a poor Dallas Stars team. Moving to the defending Stanley Cup champs brings a certain level of expectations along with it. Clearly Turco hasn’t lived up to those expectation...
