NY Rangers Blog:
Following yesterday's meetings, Special Assistant to the NHLPA and former Rangers defenseman Mathieu Schneider addressed the media, citing once again both the Players Asssociation and NHL owners had "real good, healthy" discussions and are working towards their goals. These meeting were more about player safety than anything else.
I find Schneider's comments about having different doctors interesting. I think in the NHL's efforts to reduce concussion and improving the protocol to deal with them, improving the quality of the medical staffs and team doctors would be beneficial.

A piece of Shane Doan's heart will always be in Phoenix, but there's no guarantee that's where the whole thing will be next season. According to multiple reports, Doan was in Vancouver visiting with the Canucks on Tuesday. Doan has spent his entire 16-year NHL career with the Coyotes (formerly Jets) organization, but he's a free agent and could elect to sign elsewhere...
The Phoenix Coyotes have been mired in a messy ownership situation for longer than they had expected. Most recently, the NHL was certainly hoping that Greg Jamison could change, if he could come up with enough money to purchase the team from the league.
The fans were hoping for the same, as it may have been their last chance to see Shane Doan continue his 16 year playing...
Shane Doan continues to trek around North America, meeting friends, downing Italian food and listening to the ever inflating offers for the biggest remaining fish in a very small offseason free agent pond. Doan had a conversation with prospective Phoenix Coyotes owner Greg Jamison on July 29, but it wasn't enough to prevent him from adding Montreal and Vancouver to his list...
Another day. Another chapter to the long and winding Sghane Doan saga.
In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, John Gambadoro (@Gambo620) of Arizona Sports , reported that Doan was in Vancouver, meeting with the Canucks brass.
The rumour was later confirmed by Vancouver radio station, CKWX.
BREAKING - Shane Doan sighting in Vancouver. Sources tell CKWX he had meeting with the Canuck...
from Mike Sunnucks of the Phoenix Business Journal, Greg Jamison still doesn’t have all the cash needed to finalize his purchase of Phoenix Coyotes hockey team from the National Hockey League and then also operate the franchise after a sale.
Operating capital could be the newest obstacle facing the Jamison purchase and the Coyotes tenuous situation in Glendale.

@SensKal Where will Doan end up? You think the #Sens are done for the off season?
The Shane Doan saga's a bit odd -- isn't it? Everyone knows that the asking price -- upwards of $30M on a multi-year deal -- is pretty ridiculous, especially considering standard performance regression for a player of his age. Doan's an absolute...
He's smitten. There's no denying it.
Have we ever heard and seen Darcy Regier profess this much ooeey, gooey, mooshy emotion about an NHL player that he would love to court to come to Buffalo than Shane Doan?
Hold Public Display Of Affection, Batman!
This is getting pretty interesting, isn't it? The usually reserved, ultra-conservative Regier, who when building...
If reports are to be believed, Shane Doan is currently seeking a four-year contract worth around $30 million if and when he concludes remaining in Phoenix is no longer a desirable scenario. A deal of that magnitude would call for a salary cap expenditure of $7.5 million annually. Doan will be 36 by the start [...]
