Found October 07, 2011 on Razzball Hockey:
So apparantly Matt Cooke decided to put his head-hunting career on hold and try his hand at goal scoring.  And even though 1 of the Goals was on the Power Play, I can’t see him staying on the 2nd PP unit all year.  He’s a typical 3rd/4th line guy who is valuable on the Penalty Kill, not the man advantage.  If for some reason you picked him up for today’s light schedule, feel free to drop him.  You don’t have a reliable #3 LW newbies… As far as the rest of the night, pretty uneventful.  The other 4 teams combined for just 5 Goals so if you own Bryzgalov or James Reimer you should be feelin’ pretty good right now… Jaromir Jagr – RW (Phi):  I’m already not liking this guy (all over again).  His first NHL game in over 3 years and he hits a milestone?  What a glory hog.  Your team won the game Jagr!  It’s not about individual accomplishments!  Seriously though congrats on 1,600 Points Jagr.  I put the over/under on some random Lower Body Injury at 1,620 points though. Malkin, Penguins Finally Solving the Power Play?

The Pittsburgh Penguins’ power play unit has been god-awful for the better part of two straight seasons. In each regular season since the Pens won it all in 2009, the unit has finished outside the top half of the league in man-advantage conversion.A year ago, their 25th-overall ranking turned into a 1-for-33 postseason performance which almost certainly kept the Penguins from finishing...

Why Pittsburgh will win the Cup

Yesterday I unveiled my predictions for both conferences (East and West). In there I stated that the Pittsburgh Penguins and Chicago Blackhawks would both make it to the Stanley Cup final. The Penguins and Washington Capitals plan to downplay their rivalry when they play at Consol Energy Center on Oct. 13. The clubs that Russian superstars Evgeni Malkin and Alex Ovechkin call their own are joining forces to raise funds for the families of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, the Kontinental Hockey League squad that perished in a plane crash Sept. 7. Orpik being patient in comeback from injury

VANCOUVER -- It's in the nature of most high-level athletes to play through pain and rush back from injury when possible. Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik has been there, done that, but now he's taking a different approach as he comes back from his second offseason surgery to repair an abdominal hernia.

John Toperzer: Game 1, Pens @Vancouver: It's a hockey night in Pittsburgh!

Deryk Engelland will be paired with Kris Letang if Orpik can’t go. Engelland is sure to have his hands full with a speedy Vancouver lineup, especially in his own...

Kovacevic: Crosby's smile could light way

The Penguins' locker room was a bustling place Tuesday morning ? players packing, bags getting tossed on carts, orders being barked. The team was bound for Vancouver, where its 44th NHL season will open Thursday, and everyone seemed to be in a rush. And why not? This is a shout-it-out-loud Stanley Cup contender, maybe the favorite out of the Eastern Conference. It's easy...

Penguins Hope to Continue Building Momentum Tonight in Calgary

By Joe Depto (@PensDeptoTFP) Eastern conference teams beginning extended road trips far away from home usually have already faced the brutal and constant rigors of an NHL season. For the Pittsburgh Penguins, however, they are getting the tough travels out of the way early. Coming off of a 4-3 overtime win against the defending western conference champions, the Vancouver Canucks...
