Earlier Nick was named as a finalist for the Norris Trophy, the NHL's outstanding defenseman. This is the ninth time in ten seasons he has been nominated. Five-time winner of the award, he helped the Red Wings post a defensive record this season allowing 2.16 goals per game. He also led all defensemen in scoring with 70 points on ten goals and 60 assists in 76 games and ranked second in the NHL with a plus/minus rating of plus 40.
