After spending the weekend in NYC, thinking long and hard on whom to feature in this week's edition of "Memory Lane Monday", I finally settled on former Bruins defenseman Nick Boynton. Boyton donned the black and gold from 1999-2006, with the majority of his playing time coming in 2001-04.

Boynton was drafted by the B's in the 1999 NHL Draft, spending most of that year with the Providence Bruins. Boynton continued to build on his skill set in Providence the following season and only appeared in one game for the big league club.

Things changed for Boynton once the 2001-02 season rolled around. He played in 80 of Boston's 82 games, tallying 18 points (4 G, 14 A) and 107 PIM.

His numbers continued to improve the next season, when he compiled 24 points (7 G, 17 A) and 99 PIM.

However, Boynton would enjoy his finest season with the Bruins in 2003-04, when he netted six goals to go along with 24 assists.
During the lockout year, Boynton played overseas in England with the Nottinghham Panthers of the Elite Ice Hockey League.

Boynton would spend one more year in Boston in what was an injury-riddled season for the defenseman. Boynton only participated in 54 games, totaling five goals and seven assists.

On June 26, 2006 Boynton was traded to the Phoneix Coyotes for Paul Mara. Since joining the Coyotes, Boynton has also spent time with the Florida Panthers, Anaheim Ducks, Chicago Blackhawks, and Philadelphia Flyers. He is currently a free agent.
