Methot signs two-year contract with Blue Jackets

Less than 24 hours before they were to go to arbitration, the Columbus Blue Jackets and defenseman Marc Methot (meh-THAHT') have agreed on a two-year contract. Methot and the club were scheduled to go before an arbitrator on Thursday. They reached agreement on Wednesday afternoon, with general manager Scott Howson making the announcement but not disclosing terms.
