Analysts of any sport are paid to use intelligent words when describing the games, players, coaches, etc.  NBC Sports Network’s Mike Milbury shouldn’t get paid much.  During Wednesday’s Flyers/Penguins game while describing how Penguins’ studs Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin can’t get enough of scoring goals and making plays on offense, he used a term that doesn’t fit in any way shape or form. Instead of using the widely known term “gym rat” or Milbury referred to Crosby and Malkin as “crack addicts.” In case you didn’t catch it, Milbury said: “The big guys, Malkin and Crosby. They’re like crack addicts. They can’t get enough of this offensive stuff. They want to go coast to coast and score goals, but it leads to some trouble.” Because crack addicts love going coast to coast and score goals.  That’s the first sign of an addiction – wanting to score goals. • Milbury is a flake, probably the worst commentator on sports. He obviously has an animous toward Crosby in particuler and the Pens in general. NBC needs to take a hard look at this guy and send him down the road. He's obviously jealous of these young guy's ability, and a reason to tune out the sound and listen to the game on radio while watching on tv.

NBC's Mike Milbury calls Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin 'crack addicts' (Video)

During the second intermission of Wednesday night's NHL game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers, NBC analyst Mike Milbury was looking for a clever analogy to describe the style of offense played by Penguins centers Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. However, Milbury probably could have (and should have) used a better phrase than "crack addicts"....

Mike Milbury Compares Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin to ‘Crack Addicts’ to Describe Their Play (Video)

Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are two of the most aggressive offensive players in the NHL, and NBC Sports analyst Mike Milbury found a new way to describe that offensive hunger on Wednesday night. Flyers somehow score with five Pens in crease

This was a completely bizarre series of events.  First off, how the puck stayed out of the net for so long is beyond me.  Second off, what on Earth was Penguins goalie Tomas Vokoun doing?  He was the only Penguin not in the crease. Phoenix Coyotes forward Paul Bissonnette described it best though. Well executed Harlem Shake during the Pens vs Flyers game tonight.…...

The Crack Addicts respond

Crosby and Niskanen were asked what they thought about Milbury's crack comments:  "I wasn't aware of it," Crosby said, with more than a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "He watches so much hockey, he must know. I'll try to do a better job of playing defensively." One of Crosby's teammates also chimed in. "It's a little...
