After starting out his career with so much promise, Alex Ovechkin has looked like an average player the last few seasons. Former Bruin Mike Milbury says that is due to a lack of commitment on Ovechkin’s part. He says Ovechkin is inconsistent because he’s not putting his whole mind into being the best player he can be. The former Islanders head coach and general manager said it’s disappointing knowing that kind of talent could lead to a much better performance. To hear all of Milbury’s critiques, watch the video above.

Matt Hendricks Taunts TD Garden Fan After Losing Fight With Adam McQuaid (Animation)

Matt Hendricks didn’t make any friends at the TD Garden on Saturday, and that didn’t ring true only on the ice. Hendricks got into it with a fan on his way to the locker room late in the game, after he lost a spirited scrap against Bruins enforcer Adam McQuaid. As he headed down the hallway, the Capitals center turned and motioned that he would be watching the offending fan,...

What Does the Future Hold for Michal Neuvirth?

Michal Neuvirth will be valuable to this organization, but in what capacity? (Clydeorama) At the beginning of the 2010-11 season, Michal Neuvirth entered Washington Capitals training camp as the de facto backup to Semyon Varlamov, who had established himself as a supremely talented youngster over the previous two seasons.  With the Caps’ former “starter,” Jose Theodore...

“You Wonder Why We Yell”

Forget hockey plays. What really worried the Capitals’ Joel Ward momentum-wise in the Capitals’ 5-3 win over Buffalo Sunday night was the minor power outage at Verizon Center at the start of the third period. “We were just glad it wasn’t another blackout like the Super Bowl,” he joked after the game, which eventually resumed in a slightly less illuminated setting. “We...

Jim Carey Was the Goalie the Bruins Received From the Capitals in the Adam Oates Trade

Capitals-Bruins Preview

The Boston Bruins may be eager to help keep the Washington Capitals out of the playoffs given what happened the last time the teams met in Massachusetts. Another overtime loss to the Capitals is even fresher in their minds, and they'll be out to avenge that defeat Saturday. Joel Ward stunned the Boston crowd with an overtime goal in Game 7 of a first-round playoff series last...

The Instigators Debate What’s Ailing Flailing Washington Capitals (Video)

With an 11-14-1 record, suffice it to say things haven’t gone as planned for the Washington Capitals. Currently seven points out of a playoff spot with just 22 games remaining on their schedule, the situation is getting dire in the District of Columbia. But what is it, exactly, that’s wrong down in D.C. Is it the subpar play of supposed superstar Alex Ovechkin, or is it that...

Too Physical?

from Mike Cole of NESN, “We have some big forwards, we have some guys that can play physical if they want to do that,” Washington head coach Adam Oates said after the game, according to the Washington Times.  “But we don’t want to play that kind of game, we don’t want to get involved in their game.” The Capitals were none too pleased with some physical play...
