It shouldn’t be a secret that Wayne Simmonds is a bad dude. The guy has 19 points in 24 games and five fights. So yesterday when Simmonds drilled Tyler Ennis into the boards from behind, Mike Weber took it upon himself to get revenge. Um, wrong move, brah. As you can see, Weber was on the wrong end of Simmonds reach advantage and was promptly dropped after a couple shots to the side of the head. Of course Buffalo badass John Scott was sent out for the next shift and was given a 10-minute misconduct for chirping with Zac Rinaldo before the two could even brawl. As for the game, Philly won, 3-2. Filed under: Hockey Fights

Some quick Sabres trivia: Which two Buffalo forwards lead the team in average ice time since Ron Rolston replaced Lindy Ruff as head coach?
If you don’t have Steve Ott as one of your answers, you lose.
As a matter of fact, Ott and captain Jason Pominville are the only 2 forwards on the team under Rolston to average more than 20 minutes per game.
Some will tell you this is...
Claude Giroux scored his eighth goal of the season just 17 seconds into the second period of the Flyers' 3-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres.
It was the easiest of opponents the Flyers would face this week, but they still didn't make it look easy.
Despite dominating much of the early play, the Flyers had to constantly fight off the Sabres. Buffalo proved to be a tough test...
Following practice on Tuesday afternoon, Ilya Bryzgalov spoke to the media. Bryz spoke about his playing time and how crucial these two games versus the Devils really are. He was very truthful to say if the Flyers have a chance after this home and home series with the Devils.
Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller has a sinus infection, meaning backup Jhonas Enroth will start against the New York Rangers.
Interim coach Ron Rolston provided the update after Miller missed the pre-game skate Tuesday morning. Miller is healthy enough to serve in a backup role.

Well, there's another disappointing game from the Buffalo Sabres.
If we're going to have a horrible season, at least it's a shortened one. I don't know if I could go 82 games watching a team play like this.
I just shake my head every time I see the "power play" for Buffalo. It is absolutely horrendous. They can rarely get in the zone and get it set...
Tonight will be the first time the Rangers and Sabres meet since this...
So after hearing this statement from Marc Staal on the Patrick Kaleta hit during the post game...
“It (ticks) you off, it gets you angry. It’s a cheap hit. The biggest thing is you do want to hurt them, you want to make them feel that. We were able to get two, but it doesn’t do that kind of...
The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 last night, bring their season record to 12-14-1 and their record in the month of March to 2-3-0. With the team starved for wins and points -- and with the Flyers having played more games than any other club in the NHL -- they will gladly take the two points from last night.
However, the Flyers did little last night to inspire...
NHLTags: Peter LavioletteThe term “statement week” was thrown around after the Philadelphia Flyers won their second game in a row against the Ottawa Senators.
Facing top Eastern Conference opponents in the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins, the Flyers could build off their recent success and gain some much needed...
With 27 games played to date, the Philadelphia Flyers have played more games this season than any other team in the NHL. That is bad news when the team is already mired in 11th place in the Eastern Conference and is three points behind the eighth-ranked New York Rangers (who have played 24 games).
When a team that entered the season expecting to be playoff contenders has already...

The Buffalo Sabres are on life support, putting it mildly, when it comes to making the playoffs this year.
They entered the night just one point ahead of Florida for the lowest point total in the NHL, and seven points back of eighth place in the Eastern Conference. Needless to say, chances are ultra-slim,...
