Outside the Boxscore:
In the NHL as in life, a bad bounce can mean good fortune for someone else and during Sunday night's Edmonton Oilers/Minnesota Wild affair, a third period Edmonton goal came courtesy of an unlucky play.
Here's how the play went down: Minnesota captain Mikko Koivu was trying to clear the puck and in the process, the puck deflected off the skate of Oilers forward Sam Gagne.
Then, watch as Minnesota's Ryan Suter accidentally bats the puck into the net:

During the Minnesota Wild-Edmonton Oilers game, a strange play occurred where the puck bounced out in front of the net and was batted in by Ryan Suter. Wild captain Mikko Koivu was trying to clear the puck out of the zone and he fired the puck off Oilers forward Sam Gagner’s skate. The puck caromed off his skate and started fluttering in the air towards Suter. Suter instinctively...
ST. PAUL, Minn. The scars that line his face still resemble some of the nearly 600 stitches he's endured in his career. "Baker's dozen" is the way he describes how many times he's broken his nose.
He jokes that he has "rugged good looks rather than good looks."
The number of stitches which he says total 580 are points of pride for Zenon Konopka...
ST. PAUL, Minn. Minnesota Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom had to fight being too comfortable in net during Sunday night's game against the Edmonton Oilers.
Backstrom, Minnesota's veteran netminder, said he's maybe only seen one or two occasions in his entire hockey lifetime that he's been able to enjoy the view from his own crease quite like he could during the...
from David Boclair of the Nashville City Newspaper,
Minnesota comes to town Saturday for its only visit of this abbreviated season, its first with Suter as a member of its roster. The Predators need to welcome him back in the same warm, classy manner that they have others.
Some of the nicest moments of the last month and a half were the first-period video tributes to Steve...
Minnesota Wild right wing Cal Clutterbuck hasn't played since taking a knee-to-knee hit from the Edmonton Oilers' Taylor Hall less than two weeks ago.
While the Wild may have been out for revenge Sunday night, they might not get a chance with Hall banged up, too.
Minnesota tries for a 19th home win in 20 matchups against Edmonton, which could be without one of its top forwards...
Mikko Koivu made up for a frustrating stretch without a goal by Minnesota, scoring 9 seconds into the third period to snap a tie and spark the Wild to a 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday.
The Wild had an astounding 18-0 advantage in shots on goal in the second period, and the Oilers went 23:35 without a shot after Magnus Paajarvi's goal tied the game late in the...

This weekend, I taught at a Technology Camp where I live. I taught a few classes regarding applications related to Google, and I had time between my classes so I took an old school video game system I owned which allows a person to play the old Nintendo Entertainment System games, Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. I hooked up to my SMARTboard at school (which is where Tech Camp...
Hey gang. Hopefully you are all driving safe out there.
The little guy is both ready for the NFL season and in possession of a charming little accent.
This is an issue with the conference tournament/NCAA tournament structure.
Batman was sighted in England.
Minnesota 4, Edmonton 2 – A big home win for the Wild who also somehow scored 4 goals with Zach Parise scoring no goals.
