The Montreal Canadiens have announced a six year contract extension with young forward Max Pacioretty.
The contract officially begins at the start of the 2013-14 season, and is a total of 27 million over six years which translates to $4.5mil aav
Sustaining a devastating, and career threatening injury from Zdeno Chara on March 8, 2011, Max bounced back the following season, recording 33 goals, and 65 points.
To further applaud his daunting season, as well as his incredible recovery, at the 2012 NHL Awards Max received the Bill Masterton trophy for perseverance.
Pacioretty was to expected to become an RFA by next offseason but once again Canadiens General Manager Marc Bergevin is showing his foresight by ensuring his future assets are locked up long term.
