Renowned for his elite work ethic and determination, Dietz posted an impressive career high 24 goals and 58 points, and lead all WHL defensemen in goals. The Hockey Guys WHL Insider Cody Nickolet (@WHLFromAbove) gave his insight on the young Canadiens prospect. “Dietz has major character. Never met such a hard worker. Shot and skating have really improved. Shocked if he never plays in NHL.” “A big congrats to Darren Dietz on signing with the @CanadiensMTL! You don’t see too many players with the work ethic he has.” Dietz is a rugged two-way defenseman that possesses a strong ...

Therrien Not Happy With Subban’s High-Sticking Penalty

from Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette, P.K. Subban says there’s no worse feeling than sitting in the penalty box when the opposition scores the winning goal. That was the situation Tuesday night in overtime when Subban had a front-row seat as Steve Ott banged home a rebound to give the Buffalo Sabres a 3-2 win over the Canadiens at the Bell Centre. Subban’s reaction...

Bouillon back?

As per RDS during the intermission this evening, the Canadiens are currently working on an extension for defenceman Francis Bouillon. This may come as a surprise to many, as Boullon is seen as a depth player on the Habs, but he's a fan favourite, a hard worker, and never complains about his role. I suspect Bergevin is approaching this with the understanding Bouillon may be...

The Montreal Canadiens have signed Francis Bouillon to a one year contract worth $1.5 million. Bouillon has a pleasant surprise this season with the Canadiens defensively, playing with young defensemen PK Subban and Jarred Tinordi.  The 5-foot-8, 200-pound rearguard may only have a goal and six assists in 29 games, but he wasn’t signed for his offensive [...]

Quick Habs thoughts on a Wednesday night

The Habs continue to truck along, having gained yet another point in yesterday's OT 3-2 loss to Buffalo. A few quick thoughts: The Bouillon signing is a great move. Marc Bergevin is clearly a chemistry guy, and believes in the leadership present in the room. Bouillon is a big part. Well done, M. Bergevin. Jarred Tinordi belongs. I was at Saturday's game against New...

Sabres-Canadiens Preview

One of the hottest NHL teams outside of Pittsburgh has been the surging Montreal Canadiens, who are getting solid contributions from seemingly everyone who puts on the sweater. They're still not taking the disappointing Buffalo Sabres lightly, though. Montreal looks to extend its winning streak while dealing Buffalo a sixth consecutive road loss Tuesday night in the first of...
