Jeff Carter scored a natural hat trick to lead the Kings to their record tying seventh straight road playoff win to start the post season. Los Angeles has equaled the mark set by the 1980 New York Islanders and the 1999 Colorado Avalanche.

Rookie Dwight King continued to have the hot hand. He scored his third goal in two games. He has four playoff goals, the most by a Kings rookie since Warren Rychelhad six during Los Angeles’ 1993 run to the Stanley Cup Final.

Jeff Carter’s hat trick was the first by a Kings player in the playoffs since Wayne Gretzky did it against Toronto in Game 7 of the Conference Final on May 29, 1993.
