Alex Ovechkin has never been afraid to share his opinions. During the course of the current NHL lockout we've seen him comment on the negotiations several times, even threatening to stay in the KHL after the lockout ends. This time Ovechkin took to Twitter, calling NHL owners "clowns" after the league made negative statements to the media about Donald Fehr.

In his usual broken English, Ovechkin Tweeted...

Our best guess is that Ovechkin was saying - "Hahaha What clowns!!! ... Don tells us everything. Make a deal instead of talking about Don". That's just our best guess, however. You never really know with Ovechkin.

The NHL's tactic to distance the players from their leader - Fehr - was one that appears to have backfired. In this era of modern technology, players are communicating amongst themselves more than ever before. It's highly suspect to suggest that Fehr is hiding major details from the players.

This Tweet was ReTweeted roughly 2,500 times and Favorited over 500 times. It's clear a lot of fans agree with Ovechkin and believe the league and the owners are acting like clowns.

Fehr At His Best

from Ken Campbell of The Hockey News, With the lockout on the verge of entering its third month, the Fehr Factor has entered negotiations in a big way. That much has become crystal clear with the NHL’s rising level of frustration in recent days. Negotiating with someone as intelligent and canny as Donald Fehr is difficult at the best of times. The NHL is finding out that when...

Richard Cloutier: Oh, What a Tangled Web We Weave, When First We Practice to Deceive

NHL owners have a right to be pissed. A letter from NHLPA Executive Director Donald Fehr to players was leaked on Friday. I won't go into all the boring details of the letter. What's important at this moment is to say the NHL believes the information in the letter was intentionally misleading. They feel it's proof that Fehr has been misleading players in an effort...

Travis Yost: NHL Furious With Donald Fehr

Make sure to follow Travis on Twitter! -- The NHL's frustration with NHLPA leader Donald Fehr has been palpable since the beginning of CBA negotiations. It's probably one of the main reasons why the only measurable progress in talks, specifically over the past week or so, came in closed door meetings with Steve Fehr and Bill Daly. When Donald Fehr took over as NHLPA...

Travis Yost: Latest CBA Meltdown Cause For Concern

Make sure to follow Travis on Twitter! -- Friday's implosion in New York City was quite the low-point. The NHL told the NHLPA to basically take-it-or-leave-it, Donald Fehr and the union rebuked ownership's strong-arm tactics, and the NHL soon thereafter implemented an attempted character assassination of their arch-nemesis in an attempt to (a) apply pressure to the NHLPA...

Matthew Barry: December 1st Start Date? I Don't Think So.

Sorry. I can't be an optimist on this one. I haven't been an optimist about the American economy in years. So far, so good. I was certainly not an optimist when it came to Kings V Vancouver in round 1... then again, what sane Kings fan was? I was very glad to be wrong on that one. It's Donald Fehr folks.
