Phil Kessel invited two dozen young cancer patients to the Air Canada Centre for Tuesday night’s Maple Leafs-Ducks game, and he made sure to give them quite the show. With 24 youngsters from Childhood Cancer Canada in attendance, Kessel tallied his fourth career hat trick, scoring the Leafs’ final two goals as Toronto upended Anaheim 4-2. It was a touching gesture from the Leafs forward, who battled cancer himself early in his career with the Bruins, and one these kids aren’t likely to forget anytime soon. Check out some scenes from the game in the photos below:

Leafs sniper Phil Kessel found his scoring touch and the Anaheim Ducks lost their composure. Riding Kessel's three-goal performance, Toronto recovered from a poor start to defeat Anaheim 4-2 Tuesday night and deny the Ducks a club-record eighth straight win. It was a Jekyll and Hyde performance for the Leafs, who were booed off the ice after a woeful first period that saw them...

Phaneuf just as impressive as Kessel in Leafs win

Phil Kessel had the hat trick but consider Dion Phaneuf’s trilogy a pretty good night at the office. Two a goal to pull the Leafs even 2-2 his second of the season jumping into the play and getting the Air Canada Centre crowd back in the Leafs’ corner. Three a lead role...

Pitino on Chris Jones: As good a guard as I've coached

Rick Pitino has coached some pretty good guards during his nearly 40-year career in college basketball.  Recently at Louisville, there was Russ Smith, the two-time All-American, and Peyton Siva, the point guard who led the Cardinals to a national championship in 2013. He had a host of talented players at Kentucky, too, the school with which he won it all in 1998.  A player currently...
