Sorry about the bad, pun headline. Nobody under 40 has seen “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”
I haven’t blogged much lately. Don’t ask. I’ve had better months than this one.
But if anyone could inspire me tonight, it’s Peter Mueller. To heck with objectivity – I was cheering when Mueller scored tonight. No, not because I’m cheering for the Avalanche. Because I was happy to see a guy, who I know has struggled and suffered the last 18 months, get to throw his arms in the air again.
It’s hard to believe it was April 4, 2010, when Mueller had previously scored a goal. That he got two tonight, plus an assist, in a 4-3 victory was a well-won, overdue good night for No. 88.
The thing about his goals tonight too: they were great shots, real “goal-scorers” goals. When was the last time any of us saw a one-timer like that, like on Mueller’s second score of the night in the third period?
