Found October 28, 2011 on Kukla's Korner:
In four starts this season for the Islanders, Evgeni Nabokov has compiled a 2.23 GAA and a .927 save percentage.  Nabokov did give up two goals last night in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Penguins, but he played very solid and stopped 30 of 32 shots.  There has been much talk amid rumors that the Isles are using Nabokov as trade bait because the Islanders have a surplus of goalies both at the NHL and AHL levels.  If that is in fact the case, Nabokov has shown that he can still be a very quality goalie in the NHL and other teams should be intrigued by his play so far this season. Al Montoya and Nabokov have been awarded all eight starts so far this season.  Both goalies have started four games each.  Montoya has compiled a 2-2 record with a 2.02 GAA and a .930 save percentage.  Overall, both goalies have played very well.  My guess is that Rick DiPietro will get a start either Saturday night against the San Jose Sharks or next Thursday when the Winnipeg Jets come to Long Island.Contin...
