Evgeni Nabokov turned aside 40 shots and Matt Moulson scored his team-leading 22nd goal of the season as the New York Islanders posted a rare 4-1 road victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.

All-Star John Tavares notched a pair of assists to extend his career-best point streak to 11 games for New York, which defeated its Atlantic Division rival for just the third time in 29 meetings - and first in 14 road contests.

Josh Bailey netted a shorthanded goal, captain Mark Streit added a 4-on-3 power-play tally and Michael Grabner scored with an empty net for the Islanders, who last won in Philadelphia on April 7, 2007.

After having one potential goal overturned in the first period, Moulson finally put the Islanders on the scoreboard just 28 seconds into the second. Moulson's snap shot from the slot beat Sergei Bobrovsky to extend his point streak to six games.

Bailey doubled the advantage exactly 12 1/2 minutes later. With Philadelphia on the power play, Bailey collected a loose puck at center ice before skating in and beating Bobrovsky with a backhander for his fourth goal of the season.

Streit gave New York a 3-0 lead with a blast from the right faceoff circle before rookie Matt Read's deflection ended Nabokov's bid for his 52nd career shutout midway through the third period.
