Found March 03, 2013 on Kukla's Korner:
On Thursday night in their 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning, the New York Rangers fired 42 shots on goal and created offense by not being afraid to go to the net, by not being afraid to put pucks on net and lastly, by following the lead of one of their own players. That player was power forward Rick Nash. Besides getting on the scoresheet with two points on one goal and one assist, Nash had a game-high 12 shots on goal and was a force all over the ice. Nash created offense by driving through the Lightning defense, by going to the dirty areas where goals are scored, by using his quick and smooth stickhandling skills and by using his size. The rest of the team followed suit and it resulted in a victory. While the team also has the likes of Brad Richards, Marian Gaborik, Carl Hagelin, and Ryan Callahan, it is Nash's offense that the team needs to follow. Nash creates scoring opportunities by not getting too fancy and by keeping the game simple, something the Rangers have ...

The New York Rangers, coming off a 4-1 home win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday hosted the streaking Buffalo Sabres, winners of three straight including a 4-3 shootout win at home yesterday afternoon against the New Jersey Devils.  Both teams had little changed to their lineup, just the Buffalo Sabres who were without their [...]

Nash Goes from Hero to Almost Goat Back to Hero

Rick Nash was having another Rick Nash type game as he electrified the MSG crowd everytime he had the puck on his stick. And for the second game since returning from injury he scored a goal. His first power play goal as a Rangers to give them a 2-1 lead... Then in overtime it was almost all for not as Nash almost handed the Sabres the victory by doing this... But...

Richards Doesn't Practice as Kaleta Feels Like Garbage for Hurting Team Not Richards

The Rangers website reports that Brad Richards did not practice the day after he was violently boarded by Patrick Kaleta. However, in a piece of good news John Tortorella said that Richards will be fine and no one has been recalled from the Whale making it likely that Richards will play against the Islanders tomorrow night at MSG. Arron Asham (back spasms) was also absent...

Ryan Miller gets undressed by Rick Nash and Ryan Callahan in shootout

Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller had a rough outing on Sunday against the New York Rangers in the shootout.  Miller is a very good goalie, but he and the Sabres have been struggling this year.  During the shootout, Rick Nash and Ryan Callahan pretty much undressed him and the Sabres were handed their 14th loss (12 regulation, 2 OT) of the year.  Might be time for Miller to work...

Rangers Trying to Move Gaborik? LOL!!!!!!!!

I'm going to first apologize for posting this, but I felt it was my obligation to address this non-sense. Bruce Garrioch at the Ottawa Sun reports that Glen Sather is unhappy with the Rangers inconsistencies this season and is looking to shake-up the club by possibly trading Marian Gaborik and adding more grit to the line-up. Garrioch adds that John Tortorella's job...

Game 20 Preview: Sabres at Rangers

The Sabres made waves recently when they fired Lindy Ruff after 16 seasons as their head coach. Since then they’ve gone 3-2 under Ron Rolston.  Under both coaches, the Sabres system is similar to what we’ve seen from the Flyers under Peter Laviolette, which is essentially two different looks. The first look is the 2-1-2 forecheck, which the Rangers utilize as well. This is...
