Rick Nash has 1 goal on 26 shots. As well as he has played, and it has been very, very well, that's somewhat of a problem. — Dave Lozo (@DaveLozo) January 30, 2013 Nash has five assists and is a +5. ...you know what's strange, until I saw this tweet I didn't even notice. His game is so complete, he's been helping the Rangers win (see his five assists and pk work) despite his lack of scoring. And isn't that all that really matters. ...now eventually the Rangers are going to need him to start scoring, so seeing him pass up a golden opportunity on the door step to McDonagh in the second period is a bit concerning. Rangers brought him on board to score not distribute. Having said that, I have no doubt if he continues playing the way the has up until this point he'll be back at the top of the goal scoring leaderboard by the end of the season. Is it time for the Rangers to draft a goaltender?

The Rangers are blessed with the King but shouldn’t assume he’s around forever. The Rangers are in an enviable situation with Henrik Lundqvist manning their net at an age where he can continue playing at a high level for a long time behind what should be a contender for several seasons. The immediate future in net is bright, but those who think the club should sit back and...

Callahan May Not Be Out of the Woods

After hearing the news that Ryan Callahan will only miss 10 - 14 days with a shoulder subluxation, Rangers Nation exploded into obvious rejoice. However, there was one person who sent out a word of caution... Quick warning ... though it's probably uncommon, another NYR captain, Barry Beck, had his career wrecked by recurring shoulder subluxations — Rangers Report...

Ryan Callahan Suffers Apparent Arm Injury, No Word on How Much Time He’ll Miss (Video)

The Rangers could be looking at some time without one of their best players. Captain Ryan Callahan suffered what appeared to be a pretty painful left arm injury Tuesday night in the third period of New York’s 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Callahan took exception to a little extracurricular activity from Philly’s Max Talbot around the Rangers net, and the two ended up...

Video- Ryan Callahan Injury

The Rangers have not given an update on the status of the injury Callahan suffered tonight. By the looks of it, is appears to be a shoulder injury.   added 10:21pm,   Talbot on Callahan incident: "We decided to go and we were holding each other up and his shoulder popped out or something. Unfortunate." — Dave Lozo (@DaveLozo) January 30, 2013

Callahan out 10-14 days

Per Bob McKenzie, captain Ryan Callahan is out 10-14 days with a shoulder subluxation, which means that Cally’s shoulder popped out of its socket real fast, then settled back in. This could have been a lot worse, but the Rangers will definitely miss Cally while he is out for those two weeks. While he’s out, expect Carl Hagelin and Taylor Pyatt to get a lot of time with Derek Stepan. Tweet

Perfect Home Stand Would Erase Rangers' Early Struggles

Much of the fan base was in the tizzy about how the New York Rangers opened the lockout-shortened season and rightfully so. They looked out-of-sync, a step slow and, at times, completely lost. Not the winning brand of hockey we've grown accustom to here. And not the type of hockey that will get you a spot in the playoffs for a chance to win a Stanley Cup that everyone has predicted...

Video: Torts, Players Talk Cally Injury

These videos were filmed before Ryan Callahan injury news was released... ...love seeing Torts staying so positive and confident about his team despite losing Callahan. ...while I'm just as guilty as the next guy for criticizing Torts on a multitude of issues, I can say that this guy cares about the success of the Rangers organization and his players. It's why...

Rangers Hang On to Beat the Flyers

The New York Rangers survived a frantic third period to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers tonight by a score of 2-1 at Madison Square Garden. The way the Blueshirts played tonight is exactly the kind of style that won the team many games last season. They got some timely scoring from defenseman Michael Del Zotto and team captain Ryan Callahan before relying on their penalty killing...

Flyers Fall To Rangers, It's There Own Fault

Image courtesy of MSG. (Ryan Callahan left the game with an apparent shoulder injury) If you watched the game, you know the Flyers lost this game.  The Rangers played a strong game, but they certainly didn't win the game, we lost it.  The Flyers again were unable to capitalize on their power plays, and they get the loss. The Flyers went 1 for 6 on the PP tonight, they are now...

Penguins-Rangers Preview

The New York Rangers appear to be back on track after a poor start to the season. The opposite has been true for the Pittsburgh Penguins, whose sudden dropoff after a solid opening has them searching for answers. The Rangers, though, will try to begin making do without captain Ryan Callahan as they look to stop a pair of losing streaks against Pittsburgh on Thursday night. New...

Jackets set to take on red-hot Blues

The St. Louis Blues have been getting plenty of offensive production throughout their lineup. The struggling Columbus Blue Jackets are just looking for someone to step up after trading star forward Rick Nash last summer. St. Louis will try to extend its best start in 15 seasons on Thursday night when the Blue Jackets open their longest homestand of the season. Playing six games in...
