Great news this morning as Rick Nash is on the ice for practice, per Pat Leonard. Nash is also in a contact jersey, which hopefully means he will be playing tonight. Leonard also noted that Ryan McDonagh is not on the ice this morning, and neither is Marc Staal. Staal is probably just off for maintenance, but McDonagh is likely still feeling the effects of that Max Pacioretty hit that didn’t warrant a suspension. Even though McDonagh isn’t out there, let’s focus on the good news that Nash is back. Tweet

Upgrading skill at the sacrifice of toughness remains the right decision, despite frustrating results

The additions of skilled players like Rick Nash give the 2013 Rangers a higher ceiling John Tortorella was a deserving Jack Adams Award finalist in 2011-2012 because he squeezed every ounce out of an under-talented, overachieving group.  The Rangers made it to within two games of the Stanley Cup Finals well ahead of their anticipated window for contention because Tortorella got...

The Rangers’ Powerless Play

The 2013 New York Rangers are a disappointment so far during this lockout shortened NHL season. Milan Lucic Defends His Hit on Rick Nash, Bruins’ ‘Hard-Nosed’ Style of Hockey

Milan Lucic is one tough hombre on one of the NHL’s toughest teams, and that’s something that has led to a target on the back of Lucic and the rest of the Bruins. However, it’s also tough to argue with the fact that the physical style of play that Lucic and the B’s play is successful. Where's The Offense?

Not sure how it's possible for a team to be dependent on a player who's scored just three goals in 14 games this season, but that's just what's happened to the Rangers. In the three games since Rick Nash was injured, Rangers forwards have scored exactly one goal (Ryan Callahan). That's right, in the last nine periods, one goal from Rangers forwards. Just let...
