Nashville swept their opening weekend festivities this weekend on the road against Columbus and St. Louis giving them a 2-0 record to start the season for the fifth time in franchise history. Let’s take a look at what happened last week after the jump:

Friday, October 7th: The Predators traveled on the road to open the season against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Stellar goaltending from Pekka Rinne and goals from Suter/Smith/Halischuk gave Nashville a 3-2 victory.

Saturday, October 8th: Nashville went right down the road to St. Louis and took care of business 24 hours later getting a 4 point night from David Legwand, a 3 point night from rookie Craig Smith, and a 31 save performance from Pekka Rinne, landing the Predators with 4-2 win against the Blues (Read the story!)

Nashville begins their home schedule this week with two games slated on Thursday and Saturday night. Plus, hopefully we’ll find out a little more on the always curious “upper body injury” to Martin Erat.

Thursday, October 13th: The Predators meet the Phoenix Coyotes for Nashville’s home opener. Shane Doan and company will play Monday night against the Dallas Stars and see if they can get in the win column prior to the Thursday night tilt with the Predators. Expect The Predatorial Preview to come Wednesday night to give you plenty of time to read it!

Saturday, October 15th: Ilya Kovalchuk, Zach Parise, Patrik Elias, and the rest of the New Jersey Devils march into the Bridgestone Arena to face off against the Nashville Predators in the first Saturday night home game of the season. New Jersey has two extra games this week prior to meeting Nashville on Saturday, going up against Carolina on Monday and Los Angeles on Thursday. Expect The Predatorial Preview to come Friday night to give you plenty of time to read it!
