So a team with an official — but no real — owner makes it to the final eight, helping the Western Conference become a publicity brochure for what is now little more than a niche group in professional hockey circles: Still-Believers in the Sun Belt.
Los Angeles, St. Louis, Nashville, Phoenix. Hockey with a tan and a drawl.

Richard Cloutier: What Should? What Could? What Will? - Part 2
Ding dong, the witch is dead. Well, not a witch. The Bruins. The Bruins are dead. Can you see me smiling from here? All we need to happen now is for the Senators to beat the Rangers, and the Panthers to beat the Devils, and the NHL's failure will be complete. If you can’t beat a team on your home ice, you ain’t going anywhere.

Conspiracy theory and the return of obstruction, interference and bafflingly uncalled infractions
The Vancouver Province’s Tony Gallagher offers up quite the conspiracy theory this morning, and while you and I might not agree that the NHL is actively conspiring against the Vancouver Canucks and/or any and all teams which do not espouse Boston Bruins-style pugnaciousness and an ability to keep up with clutch-and-grab style hockey, but Gallagher makes a very astute point in suggesting...
