The New Jersey Devils are hosting the Washington Capitals tonight, and all Martin Brodeur wants this season is to get back into a rhythm, he told NJ.com before the game.
Martin Brodeur, shown here in this file photo, wants more games at a consistent rate, rather than splitting one-for-one in back-to-back situations.
Don’t over-think that statement, Brodeur simply just wants to get back to a .500 goalie record, and get into the rhythm of playing consistently. Then, he suggests, he’ll be able to perform better.
Brodeur added, he’d like to play the series of games when the Devils go back-to-back days in games.
Brodeur is 3-3 this month, while Johan Hedberg has gone 2-2. Of those back-to-back series, the Devils played on the 12th and 13th, and the 16th and 17th. Brodeur played the second game in both sets, and won both. Meanwhile, Hedberg went 2-0 starting the first games in each set.
Looks like coach Pete DeBoer played his cards right.
Brodeur is 8-9 so far, with a 3.08 GA...
