The 6th Sens:
For their next installment in their popular gaming franchise, EA Sports has opted to let fans ultimately decide which NHL player they want to adorn the cover of NHL 13. By creating a 60-player tournament bracket in which every organization was represented by two players, EA Sports has encouraged fans to get out and vote for their favorite player(s). I'm assuming that EA created this tournament in an effort to devote man-power and countless hours debating the merits of their own selection for the coveted cover. Instead, I'm hoping that they are choosing to use this time to make NHL 13 as realistic of a simulation as possible; complete with Henrik Lundqvist meltdowns after each goal mouth scramble.
Now that the field has been narrowed, having survived a first round matchup with teammate Jason Spezza and a second round straight up vote that separated the top 16 vote getters from the rest of the field, Erik Karlsson is now matched up with the aforementioned Lundqvist in E...

To the surprise of no one (hence the sarcastic title), the National Hockey League has announced that New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has been named a finalist for the 2011-12 Vezina Trophy, which is awarded to the League's best goaltender during the regular season. This is the fourth time in Lundqvist's seven-year career that he has been named a finalist for...
… seriously, have you EVER heard Henrik Lundqvist come out and say ANYTHING like this before? Absolutely not. So you know Henrik is totally pissed off over this. He’s right, someone wanted Ottawa back in this game. Probably the same people who wanted Philadelphia back in the Winter Classic game as well. It’s a total [...]
In no surprise whatsoever, Henrik Lundqvist was named a finalist for the Vezina trophy this season. Lundqvist had by far the best season of his career this year, posting a 1.97 GAA (4th in the NHL), a .930 SV% (3rd), 39 wins (3rd), and 8 shutouts (3rd). Lundqvist was the rock in the Rangers net, and despite having his numbers slide a little bit in the final month of the year, when...
… Well deserved! Henrik was a BRICK WALL in the first round and really was the difference when the Senators turned up the tempo.
Henrik Lundqvist was upset with the controversial late goal by the Senators last night and spoke about it post-game.
I don’t know about you, but my feelings are the Rangers won the game, brush the goal off and move on.
Instead, Lundqvist went in the opposite direction.

With under a minute left in Game 6 of the New York Rangers- Ottawa Senators playoff series, Senators’ forward Chris Neil scored a goal, making it 3-2 Rangers while bringing the Senators within one goal. However, after a few replays, it apparently seemed as though Neil had illegally kicked the puck into a net, an illegal play which would have nullified...

Zdeno Chara of the Boston Bruins, Erik Karlsson of the Ottawa Senators and Shea Weber of the Nashville Predators are the finalists for the Norris Trophy for the NHL's best defenseman.
The winner will be announced June 20 at the NHL awards ceremony in Las Vegas.
Chara, who won the Norris in 2009, had a career-high 52 points (12 goals, 40 assists) for Boston.
Karlsson led all...
Henrik Lundqvist gave a wink and a smile when asked about his postgame tirade after the New York Rangers stayed alive with a Game 6 win at Ottawa.
The usually mild-mannered star goalie, who could be in line to win the Vezina Trophy for the first time, wasn't really in the mood to rehash it. There are much bigger things on his mind and the minds of his teammates, like beating...
