Ryan Callahan scored a power-play goal before leaving with an injury in the third period, and Henrik Lundqvist made 26 saves to lift the New York Rangers to a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.
Defenseman Michael Del Zotto had a goal and assist for the Rangers (3-3), who have won two straight for the first time this season. Philadelphia (2-5) has dropped two in a row.
Kimmo Timonen ended Lundqvist's shutout bid 7:09 into the third with a power-play goal after the Rangers were caught with too many men on the ice.
Philadelphia's power play failed twice in the second half of the period when the Flyers pressed for the tying goal.
Ilya Bryzgalov, back in the net after his first game off, was solid in making 26 saves for Philadelphia.

After hearing the news that Ryan Callahan will only miss 10 - 14 days with a shoulder subluxation, Rangers Nation exploded into obvious rejoice. However, there was one person who sent out a word of caution...

The Rangers could be looking at some time without one of their best players.
Captain Ryan Callahan suffered what appeared to be a pretty painful left arm injury Tuesday night in the third period of New York’s 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.
Callahan took exception to a little extracurricular activity from Philly’s Max Talbot around the Rangers net, and the two ended up...
The Rangers have not given an update on the status of the injury Callahan suffered tonight.
By the looks of it, is appears to be a shoulder injury.
Talbot on Callahan incident: "We decided to go and we were holding each other up and his shoulder popped out or something. Unfortunate."

Per Bob McKenzie, captain Ryan Callahan is out 10-14 days with a shoulder subluxation, which means that Cally’s shoulder popped out of its socket real fast, then settled back in. This could have been a lot worse, but the Rangers will definitely miss Cally while he is out for those two weeks.
While he’s out, expect Carl Hagelin and Taylor Pyatt to get a lot of time with Derek Stepan.

If you watched the game, you know the Flyers lost this game. The Rangers played a strong game, but they certainly didn't win the game, we lost it. The Flyers again were unable to capitalize on their power plays, and they get the loss.

The Rangers are blessed with the King but shouldn’t assume he’s around forever.
The Rangers are in an enviable situation with Henrik Lundqvist manning their net at an age where he can continue playing at a high level for a long time behind what should be a contender for several seasons. The immediate future in net is bright, but those who think the club should sit back and...
According to Andrew Gross at Rangers Rants, Torts juggled the line combos today at practice with both his even strength and power play units. Gross reported the following line combos:

Just a few days ago I was feeling real good about the Rangers newly acquired depth F’s, Benn Ferriero and Jason Arnott. Then, just as soon as it happened, the Arnott deal fell apart after the veteran failed his physical and a few days after that captain Ryan Callahan appeared to have suffered a serious [...]
The New York Rangers appear to be back on track after a poor start to the season. The opposite has been true for the Pittsburgh Penguins, whose sudden dropoff after a solid opening has them searching for answers.
The Rangers, though, will try to begin making do without captain Ryan Callahan as they look to stop a pair of losing streaks against Pittsburgh on Thursday night.
Much of the fan base was in the tizzy about how the New York Rangers opened the lockout-shortened season and rightfully so. They looked out-of-sync, a step slow and, at times, completely lost. Not the winning brand of hockey we've grown accustom to here. And not the type of hockey that will get you a spot in the playoffs for a chance to win a Stanley Cup that everyone has predicted...
The New York Rangers survived a frantic third period to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers tonight by a score of 2-1 at Madison Square Garden.
The way the Blueshirts played tonight is exactly the kind of style that won the team many games last season. They got some timely scoring from defenseman Michael Del Zotto and team captain Ryan Callahan before relying on their penalty killing...
